Deflated...but still not discouraged!
We awoke on Friday morning much like we did any other Friday morning; semi-grouchy until we (a) had our morning cup of coffee and (b) realized it was indeed Friday.
I bid Andy his daily farewell and went about my morning routine. Only when Andy came back into the house with the news that all four of the tires on our Suburban had been slashed, my little TGIF mood came to a crashing halt.
The slashing was done by way of puncture holes and a slow leak. They were flat as pancakes by the time Andy left the house at approximately 6:30 a.m., so our best guess is that the little perp hit sometime around 1am or before.
The police were called out and after taking a survey of our surrounding area, they confirmed that we were indeed the only one hit (mind you, we have alley access in our area, so there were PLENTY of cars to choose from in addition to our own.)
We live in a quaint suburb and this type of thing is not very common. But when you're the only one who has been chasing a PEEPING TOM all over town, I suppose it's only natural that TOM will find a way to retaliate. The police stated that they also received a call from a family a few blocks away reporting a peeping tom standing outside of their daughter's window smoking cigarette's. (THAT'S HIM ALRIGHT.) I suppose once the lights are turned off, there's nothing left to do but go and sabotage somebody's personal property, eh?
$500.00 and 6-8 Advil later, our immediate situation is rectified. Andy took it upon himself to clean out the garage and we've managed to squish in the obese Suburban we once though safe in our driveway (of course, they didn't bother with the crappy old minivan we're trying to drive into the ground!)
The police assured us that they will have an even more heightened police presence in the area, and stated that they have contacted a special unit from Ramsey County in order to investigate the peeping situation. If we are assuming correctly, TOM has gotten a little too courageous and vindictive. This has gotten way out of control and I am now seriously worried about the young and not-so-young ladies in our neighborhood.
Andy and I are going to continue corresponding with the police department and will also try to find out what we can about what the County is going to do for us. Say a little prayer that this guy be caught, okay?
I'll keep you all posted!

oh my goodness....
wow... how alarming. he really is ballsy... since it was on your property they can't interogate him? is it because it is only obvious, well legally speculative, that he did it???
