My Return to Never Land

We've just returned from our second tour through (eh hm) Orlando and remain giddy on some level in a wonderful place called 'Cloud 9'. Though somewhat new to the practice of a Family Vacation, I am in awe that a getaway such as this can do for a family what a romantic rendezvous can do for lovers. We are full of bliss. It never occurred to me that even a 3 year old could use a break from the web of busy schedules that mom and dad spin each day. Noah and Elliott smiled often, laughed loud and really enjoyed taking in the sights (which, as I may have mentioned, didn't include many mouse ears this time around!)

We went to the ocean and soaked in all of the glee and wonder that were the boys'. Some of my favorite quotes were "boy those shells are hard to get to!" and "blaughk! that water doesn't taste so good!" We met up with some school friends who were vacationing not more than 2 miles away from our resort. We ate dinner at an amazing restaurant called Tu Tu Tango which served all tapas (those who know me can rightfully assume I was in my element!) and embraced an amazing array of artistry - there were at least a dozen artists hard at work throughout the restaurant, not to mention the occasional dancers and if you didn't feel for dessert, you could even get your palm read! A very fun night out.

Fast forward past a thousand other memorable moments to our last day. We spent our final day at the pool and met a wonderful family via Elliott's palling around with their son Ollie. What started out as an occasional comment on the weather turned into an entire day spent talking about life in the U.K. (where they are from) verses the U.S. Andy had to nudge me a few times due to my...er..."condition" of adapting all too well with accents. I don't know why it is, but I can't help it! When I spend time with my mom's family, you can hear a slight southern twang in me and as we found out, I can adapt quite nicely to the English of a Brit. Four pizza's and two bottles of wine later (which didn't help my condition), we exchanged addresses and promised to visit each other in the near future. Elliott's already exchanged a few email notes with his new friend, as have we with Ollie's 'mum' and dad.

I could write for pages, but instead I will finish the laundry for it is much like my memories - very very plentiful.

"G'day!"
